Kirton Bros. Trucking Race Team

Ray started racing at the old Mission Raceway back in the 70's with a '64 Chevelle that ran in the 12's. His return to drag racing stated in 2001 with his current truck as an alcohol injected big block that ran in the high 8 second range. He stepped into the doorslammer class and it turned into a class that fit the truck perfectly except he wanted to go faster.

In 2003 with the aid of Bob Davenport (to upgrade the chassis) and Richmond Engines (to change the combination to a Blown Alcohol burning powerplant), Ray went out and ran in the 7's immediately. A win and a r/u at Ashcroft kept him near the top of the standings all season long and he finished second to Joe Mellof.

The truck has gone 1.05 to 60 ft.

Ray is a perennial top 5 finisher in the CWDS including #3 in 2007 and a best of second place three years ago.
Ray and wife Donna wish to extend special thanks to Don and Rita for their support. He will run the CWDS again in 2008 and is looking for the #1 spot. He will make a huge debut sometime in the in the near future.
