Dave Richardson Racing

Dave Richardson is one of the most decorated Drag Racers to come out of Western Canada in the Sportsman ranks. He was the Super Gas Division 6 champion in 1991 and won the Canada West Pro Gas assoc. title the first four years it was in existance. Racing his Ford Capri, Dave was a big threat every time he hit the track.

In 1991 he finished 7th in the world championship for SG. Dave also represented Div. 6 for the TRW (now Jeg's) Allstars, and was #1 qualifier one year. His best fisnish was as a semifinalist. He won the TRW perfect run on two different occasions as well (above photo at SIR). Dave was runnerup at one National event and won three Divisionals.

In 1991 Dave was awarded the Division 6 "Sportsman driver of the Year". The following year he won the Super Pro series championship at Mission Raceway the first year the track re-opened. He also finished in the top ten in Division 6 in Super Gas three seasons in a row. In 2000 he bought his current ride a 1997 Camaro that was built for Pro Stock. Dave has competed in Super Gas, Super Pro and Super Comp with this car but has found a home racing in the Canada West Doorslammer series. He won the three races the first year he raced the series in 2001 and won the championship. Always a threat whenever he is at the track, Dave likes the class because it is run without electronics making it much more of a drivers series. He would like to thank his crew chief Bruce Wilson for all his help with tuning the race car and the maintanance on the engine.
